This little black and white gem from 1959 , directed by Bernard Kowalski and starring stalwart actors Michael Emmet , Yvette Vickers, Ken Clarke and the ever reliable Jan Shepherd is pretty damn good stuff . Leeches suck blood . Giant leeches suck lots of blood ! Huge radiation induced mutated leeches are kidnapping the inhabitants of a swamp in Louisiana then dining on their prisoners ,
attaching huge , sucker mouths to their necks and draining their blood through the wound . A great monster movie from the king of the genre - Roger Corman .
