This double feature presents two fun-filled comedies: BABY'S DAY OUT and DUNSTON CHECKS IN.
In BABY'S DAY OUT, three inept kidnappers (led by Joe Mantegna) pursue an unbelievably agile toddler through the mean streets of Chicago in this slapstick romp from producer/screenwriter John Hughes, in the tradition of HOME ALONE and Road Runner cartoons. As the baby's parents, the police, and the kidnappers try to find the missing baby before it's too late, he unwittingly crawls in and out of hair-raising situations...always managing a happy last-minute escape.
In DUNSTON CHECKS IN, widower Robert Grant (Jason Alexander) is the manager of the tony Majestic Hotel, where he's raising his two sons. Robert's very nervous, because a critic from a distinguished travel guide is due to arrive shortly, so everything must be perfect. But things go awry when a jewel thief named Rutledge (Rupert Everett) arrives at the hotel and is mistaken for the critic. Even more chaos ensues when Rutledge's assistant Dunston--an adroit orangutan--escapes from his cruel owner and befriends Robert's young son, Kyle (Eric Lloyd). With mistaken identities and simian hijinks turning the hotel upside-down, Robert's worst nightmare has just been realised. So can he keep everything under control when the real critic arrives
