On August 8th 1963 , the London - Glasgow Royal Mail train was robbed by 15 men who got away with £2.6 million . Buster tells the story of one of the junior robbers , Buster Edwards ( Phil Collins ) ,
in a crime that became known as the ' Great Train Robbery '. After the heist Buster and his wife June ( Julie Walters ) are forced to go into hiding . After a series of close calls they finally escape detection and flee to a new life in Mexico . But it's not long before June is homesick and flies back to Britain , so what will Buster decide .
