Summary: The Byrds are widely considered to be one of the most important American rock acts of all time and were inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 1991.

Formed in California in 1964, The Byrds became pivotal figures in the psychedelic, folk, and country rock genres with the worldwide success of their rendition of Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man." Claimed as influences by such artists as Tom Petty and REM, their distinct and innovative sound remains fresh and contemporary even in the current climate of rock music. This release captures their live appearances on German television from 1971-1972, performing such classics as "Black Mountain Rag," "So You Want To Be A Rock & Roll Star," "Chestnut Mare," and "Eight Miles High."
