Their tight, three-part harmonies and acoustic/electric instrumentation typified the expanding folk-rock sound, and their introspection and self-possession were touchstones of the singer-songwriter movement. This quiet musical revolution took place in the peaceful and evocative surrounding of Laurel Canyon, California. Together with Crosby, Stills And Nash, other famous songwriters were an integral part of the phenomenon, from The Byrds, to Carole King, The Mamas And Papas and Joni Mitchell. This documentary explores the dynamics and the milieu from which this pivotal and unique moment in American musical history originated.
