Dambusters, The

Info
Summary: A programme examining one of the more memorable raids of the Second World War. Barnes Wallis first came up with the idea of the 'bouncing' bomb while playing marbles in his back garden. It would, however, take three years of development before the RAF would take him seriously and ordered the raids in the spring of 1943.

The story of Barnes Wallis' Bouncing Bomb. The obsessive engineer devised a bomb that would be able to bounce on water and knock out two of Germany's most vital dams. Using testimonies of the surviving Dambusters and original archive footage of the bomb trials, this documentary is a fascinating story of invention and perseverance.
