Summary: Glossy reworking of classic horror film HOUSE OF WAX. A group of road-tripping Florida teenagers (Elisha Cuthbert, Chad Michael Murray, Paris Hilton, Robert Ri'chard, Jared Padalecki, and Jon Abrahams) set up camp near a small town where an abandoned wax museum draws their curiosity. Upon exploring the sinister cobwebbed space, they find that the waxworks are not only eerily lifelike, but that the entire museum--floor to ceiling--is actually made of the stuff! With echoes of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, this blood-soaked gore-fest is designed to shock, horrify and disturb in equal parts--and does so admirably. The remake more than holds a candle to its predecessor, Andre de Toth's 1953 film starring Vincent Price (also included here).
