This very violent and very underrated iconic classic from 1980 is the ultimate revenge movie and should be in any avid DVD collectors stash . Relatively an unknown actor at the time , Robert Ginty who would go on to make a sequel ( Exterminator 2 ) and pop up in many a television series and B - movies plays Vietnam veteran John Eastland who is saved from death by his best buddie who is played by Steve James . When his pal is mugged and left crippled the
lone crusader takes the law into his own hands and decides it's time to take out all the scumbags because the law don't seem to be doing very well . Christopher George is the cop who is trying to bring
The Exterminator to justice but could the price be too high . The scene at the beginning where a guy gets his head severed by a machete is quite realistic for the time this wee gem was made but the mincing machine does take some beating and will put you of your sausages and pies for life . Go get em boy !
