Yuanjia was the founder of the Jin Wu Sports Federation and challenged foreign fighters to bouts. As with Jet Li's ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA films, Li plays a character that stands up for the Chinese people at a time when Western influence was having a significant impact on China.
