Summary: To mark the 50th anniversary of Roger Bannister breaking the four minute barrier for running the mile, this mini-series is released on DVD. Based on the true events back in May 1954, on a wet day in Oxford, when medical student Roger Bannister (Richard Huw) was running against John Landy (Nique Needles) who was seconds away from breaking the record. Bannister's coach, Franz Stampfl (Michael York) had been training him to race strategically in order to get the edge in the 'race of the century'. Featuring Richard Wilson as Harold Abrahams (whose story was told in CHARIOTS OF FIRE) and Adrian Dunbar as Norris McWhirter, co-editor of the Guinness Book of Records.
