Francesco Cileo wrote this opera about the real life Adriana Lecouvreur, a French actress from the 18th Century who revolutionised acting by her naturalistic delivery. This production was performed in January of 2000 at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, with Roberto Rizzi Brignoli conducting the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra and Chorus.
