Includes the George Clooney films ONE FINE DAY, THE THIN RED LINE, SOLARIS, and GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK. THE THIN RED LINE, follows the efforts of an army platoon to capture the Japanese-controlled island of Guadalcanal in the Pacific Ocean, which will have a major effect on the outcome of tWorld War II. The members of C-for-Charlie Company are all fighting for different reasons: Some to achieve glory, some to fight for democracy, and some simply to remain alive. They spend the quieter moments reflecting upon their existence, searching for meaning amid the senselessness of war. In ONE FINE DAY, a divorcee and full time mother meets a divorced part time father. Both have a busy schedule and both need babysitters for the day. GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK recounts the events of the mid-1950s leading up to acclaimed CBS journalist Edward R. Murrow's decision to stand up against fiery Senator Joseph McCarthy, who was out to rid the country of communism. McCarthy's seemingly reckless behaviour--in which he condemned individuals without giving them a fair trial--angered Murrow and his producer Fried Friendly into action. The resulting few episodes of Murrow's show SEE IT NOW found Murrow on a personal, patriotic crusade to challenge McCarthy and rid America of his callous persecution. In Solaris, Psychologist Chris Kelvin--mourning the loss of his beloved wife--is instructed to travel to a distant space station in order to treat a group of traumatised astronauts.
