I think most of us enjoy a good old monster movie, and this is one of them. Gone are the tacky old Japenese puppets, and awful dubbing. In, comes state of the art computer graphics, and a few slightly over the top characters. This is the type of film where the lights are out, your snuggled into the sofa with half a dozen cushions listening to the 5.1 surround, and jump out of your skin when you hear something behind you. sensibly rated at PG, the kid can enjoy it too. Cheesy yes, entertaining definitely.

Even though the special effects are stunning , the Godzilla and the other hyper dinosaurs in this under - rated movie , please do not get me wrong , these kind of over the top movies are right up my street ,
do not rock my boat , as they remind me of the ones in Jurassic Park.
I preferred the cult Toho movies of the 50's , even though it was all cardboard and guys in rubber suits ( see Godzilla V Hedorah ) .
But anyhoo , I still liked it because mankind has to pay the ultimate price for its folly - nuclear weapons testing . Japanese do better .
