Summary: Glamorous husband and wife couple Jonathan and Jennifer Hart are constantly getting pulled into cases that challenge their amateur sleuthing abilities. They roam the world, mingling with the glitterati while constantly encountering crimes to solve. In the second season, Max the housekeeper's ex-wife, whom he has long thought to be dead, resurfaces and asks for his help, and the Harts encounter a group of smugglers hiding a solid gold barbell. Jennifer stars in an amateur production that may turn deadly for her, while the Hart's lawyer plots Jonathan's demise.

Jonathan Hart (Robert Wagner) is a self-made millionaire, the owner of a huge corporation called Hart Industries, while his wife, Jennifer (Stephanie Powers), is a well-known freelance journalist. Their opulent household is rounded out by the Harts' loyal housekeeper and sidekick, Max (Lionel Stander).
