John Wayne has become an enduring American icon and one of the most popular actors of the twentieth century. This collection celebrates some of his classic performances in the Western genre;
In RIDERS OF DESTINY Wayne is a Secret Service agent sent on a mission to help ranchers whose water supply is threatened by a gang of crooks. In WEST OF THE DIVIDE a young cowhand returns to his boyhood home, only to discover his brother missing and his father murdered. SAGEBRUSH TRAIL finds Wayne behind bars, wrongfully accused of a crime. One day, when his jailer is particularly careless, he sees his chance and escapes in order to clear his name. BLUE STEEL tells of a band of ruthless outlaws who try to force out the townspeople in a small community after gold is discovered there. One brave man stands in their way. PARADISE CANYON sees Wayne playing a government Secret Service agent assigned with the task of smashing a counterfeiting ring operating near the Mexican border. In THE DESERT TRAIL the townspeople falsely accuse rodeo performer John Scott of murder. He and sidekick Kansas Charlie roam the countryside in search of the real killers. In TEXAS TERROR the Duke battles Texas outlaws after he finds out they were responsible for the death of his best friend (features one of Wayne's most grueling fights on film). DAWN RIDER sees Wayne seek revenge on the gang responsible for killing his father in an action-packed western adventure. And THE TRAIL BEYOND, the tale of two rough adventurers who journey to the Northwest in search of gold. Their plans are temporarily sidetracked when they happen on a kidnapped girl.
