An Ealing Studio classic, KIND HEARTS AND CORONETS is a deft and dark Edwardian comedy with Alec Guinness in superb form as he plays eight different members of the D'Ascoyne clan. In order to inherit the entire D'Ascoyne fortune, the suave, dashing black sheep of the wealthy family, Louis (Dennis Price) must murder all the other heirs. Watch as the brilliant Guinness disappears into his various eccentric roles.

In this Robert Hamer directed film from 1949 , the great Alec Guinness plays all 8 members of the aristocratic D'Ascoyne family ,
murdered by the suave Louis Mazzini ( Dennis Price ) in order to inherit a dukedom . The film taps a rich vein of black humour that always ran through Ealing films , and despite being a period piece
has rarely dated . There's wonderful support from Joan Greenwood as Mazzini's snobbish girlfriend , but it's Alec Guinness's triumphant performance that remains at the heart of a brilliant comedy . The film also stars Miles Malleson , Audrey Fildes and Clive Morton .
