Summary: Thomas Magnum is a private investigator who works as part of a security team in the palatial Hawaiian mansion of millionaire businessman Robin Masters. Magnum is a private investigator in charge of security on a millionaire's estate in Hawaii. When he's not outsmarting the stern Higgins, Magnum turns his attention to solving crimes and meeting beautiful women.

Thomas Magnum (Tom Selleck) is a private investigator who works as part of a security team in the palatial Hawaiian mansion of millionaire businessman Robin Masters. Using his luxurious surroundings as his base, Magnum runs a daily battle with various criminals as he seeks to track them down and report their illicit activities. However, he also faces a constant battle with the caretaker of Masters' estate, Jonathan Higgins (John Hillerman), particularly when Magnum zooms off in the 308 GTS Ferrari that has been left at his disposal! It all adds up to an action packed show from the 1980s that manages to capture much of the fashion and excesses of the decade. Though a cliffhanger in series seven threatened to leave Magnum in a body bag, the gumshoe triumphantly returns to fight crime in the show's eighth and final series.
