Based on an actual event, "MARIE" is the story of a young woman who, a victim of domestic violence, escaped her husband, put herself through school and raised her chronically ill child. She got into politics and eventually became the appointed Head of the State Parole Board of Tennessee. She quickly discovered that the state government was riddled with corruption and became a whistle blower, leading to the imprisonment of corrupt Governer and other officials. Marie was a heroine, and this is her story.
