A celebration of Michael Caine's most iconic films. Includes EDUCATING RITA (1983), Caine plays Dr. Frank Bryant, an alcoholic professor who tutors and befriends Rita (Julie Waters), a frustrated young housewife filled with wanderlust; THE FOURTH PROTOCOL (1987), Caine plays a senior British agent who gets demoted to a customs post, wherein he discovers impending Russian plot; THE EAGLE HAS LANDED (1976), John Sturges's adaptation of Jack Higgins's novel stars Caine as Nazi Col. Kurt Steiner, who has been court-marshaled for subordination. He is offered an assignment to go to England and kidnap Winston Churchill; THE IPCRESS FILE (1965), Caine plays master spy Harry Palmer, in this mystery thriller about an undercover gang who brainwash England's leading scientists; and WITHOUT A CLUE (1988) is a twist on the Sherlock Holmes stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. This time, Dr. Watson's (Ben Kingsley) the one with the mystery-solving talents, while Holmes is nothing but his fictional creation. To satisfy the public's interest, Watson hires bubbling actor Reginald Kincaid (Caine) to play the part for real.
