Summary: The apple falls far from the family tree in MY BIG PHAT HIP HOP PHAMILY. Audrey, a typical student at Midwestern University, is interested in pursuing a career in classical music. Her apparent 'normalcy' however, makes her something of a misfit within her own family, made up as it is by a group of outrageous characters. Audrey's parents were R&B stars in the 1970s, her brother's a big name in the world of hip-hop and fashion, and her precocious little sister is a street-smart MC who models herself after rapper Lil' Kim. Audrey, on the other hand, finds the whole 'bling' culture quite embarrassing and tries to distance herself from it as much as possible. But when her family shows up at the campus unannounced, she finds it hard to keep up the pretence...
