PRIVATES ON PARADE is a wacky comedy about a British army unit assigned the thankless task of entertaining the troops stationed in the Malayan jungle during the second world war. John Cleese leads the troops as Major Giles Flack and he's accompanied by an aging actress suffering from old fashioned notions of entertainment. Shades of this criticsm on army life can be seen in Cleese's work as a performer with Monty Python.
