REAR WINDOW - A man confined to his apartment with a broken leg passes the time by spying on his neighbours. He suspects one of his neighbours of murder and must try to convince non-believers.
THE BIRDS - Wealthy, reformed party girl, Melanie Daniels, enjoys a brief flirtation with lawyer Mitch Brenner in a San Francisco pet shop and decides to follow him to his Bodega Bay home. Bearing a gift of two lovebirds, Melanie quickly strikes up a romance with Mitch while contending with his possessive mother and boarding at his ex-girlfriend's house. One day, during a birthday party for Mitch's younger sister, a flock of birds attacks the children in what seems to be a random incident. In fact, it signals the beginning of a massive avian assault on the residents of the town - a mysterious assault that no one can explain and one, which no one may survive.
VERTIGO - Scottie Ferguson is a retired detective; his career ended by the onset of a paralysing fear of heights. An old friend, the wealthy Gavin Elster, hires Ferguson to follow his wife, whom, he explains has grown obsessed with an ancestor of hers. The assignment draws Ferguson out of his comfortable role as observer and into a complex web of intrigue, mingled with the detective's own fantasies and fears. In attempting to unravel a complicated series of frauds, Ferguson falls in love with the woman he is assigned to follow, only to see her commit suicide - or so he thinks.
