Late in the 21st-century on a far-off mining planet ravaged by war, a colonel abandoned by his superiors tries to cross the desert to negotiate peace with his decimated rivals. In attempting the crossing he and his one-man crew have to contend with a race of weapons who've programmed themselves to kill any living being. Based on "Second Variety," a short story by Philip K. Dick.

I find this film very intriguing. It's hard to tell exactly what it is, it waivers between horror, sci-fi and action with some truly terrifying and horrific scenes. The plot twists and turns although doesn't really end up going anywhere. At its heart it's a cult movie and sometimes you find yourself loving the movie and other times hanging around waiting for it to get going again. Either way it will probably appeal to die hard sci-fi fans the most. Definitely worth a look just to make up your own mind.
