Summary:

This rousing spectacle from DreamWorks follows Sinbad (Brad Pitt) and his band of pirates, who rob and pilfer their way through ancient times. The adventure begins when the coveted Book of Peace, guarded by Sinbad's good friend Proteus (Joseph Fiennes) is stolen by Eris, the evil goddess of chaos (Michelle Pfeiffer). Sinbad is sent on a journey to return the book to its rightful owner, which means sailing to the uncharted waters of Eris' kingdom, through oceans laden with monsters and dangers at every turn. Stowing away for the ride is Proteus' beautiful and feisty fiancee Marina (Catherine Zeta Jones). Her presence allows for plenty of bickering and tortured romance in between the suspense and action-packed set pieces, which involve (among other things) tentacled sea serpents, sharks, and ghostly sirens. SPIRIT: STALLION OF THE CIMARRON is a refreshingly old-fashioned and gentle tale of a young mustang stallion struggling to remain free in the old West. Captured by the U.S. Army, Spirit (voiced by Matt Damon) refuses to let the soldiers saddle and ride him. But an authoritarian colonel (James Cromwell) is determined to break Spirit, at one point starving the horse to weaken him. Fortunately, a Lakota prisoner called Little Creek (Daniel Studi) takes pity on the horse, helping him to escape. Little Creek finds that he can't break the horse either, but the two learn to respect one another.
