This performance, filmed live at the Trump Regency Cabaret Theatre in Atlantic City, features Washington at one of the peaks of his career, and shows off his considerable skill as an innovative jazz musician.
SMOKEY ROBINSON - The Motown legend who seems to think a lot about crying (see his two biggest hits "Tears Of A Clown" and "Tracks Of My Tears") comes live from a very special performance at Atlantic City's Bally's Grand Opera House. Nobody does broken hearts like this sensitive soul man, who has had over 30 Top Forty hits. At this concert, Robinson sings seventeen of his most beloved tunes, including the aforementioned "Tears" duo, "Quiet Storm," "Everything You Touch," and "Just A Mirage."
RAY CHARLES - Straddling the musical categories of jazz, soul, and rhythm 'n blues, Ray Charles is a nearly undisputed musical genius. The blind singer-songwriter-pianist, who has become branded "The Legendary Genius Of Soul," has earned countless awards and endless accolades. IN CONCERT was filmed live in Miami, Florida as a benefit for the Miami Lighthouse For The Blind. Not only does Charles perform most of his class hits, including "Georgia On My Mind," and "I Got A Woman," he also indulgences in a stunning saxophone solo and some moving duets with jazz singer Diane Schuur.
