Summary: Renegade survivors from Krypton threaten Earth with a space bomb. Lex Luthor and two dastardly accomplices take over the White House. Superman races to the rescue and undertakes a series of mighty struggles.
Once again mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent (Christopher Reeve), hiding his identity as Superman, must fight for law and order. This time around, a triumvirate of nasty villains from the planet Krypton break free of their dimensional prison and hightail it to Earth, where they enjoy the same superpowers as Superman. Meanwhile, Lois Lane (Margot Kidder) has discovered that Superman and Clark are the same person, so Superman debates whether to give up his abilities to become a normal man and share his life with Lois. Richard Lester (A HARD DAY'S NIGHT) takes the helm for this sequel, which is arguably the equal of the original hit film.

Great film, maybe not as good as the first one but nonetheless it was a joy to watch. Good cast including Gene Hackman, Ned Beatty
Terence Stamp, Margot Kidder and not forgetting Christopher Reeve reprising his role as the man of steel and getting joint billing no less with Gene Hackman who is terrific as Lex Luther. It's the same old story again, bad guys escape from prison, want to rule the entire world and while Superman is head over heals in love with Lois Lane he gives up his powers and gets a hard time. He comes back !
