In THEM!, atomic radiation once again manages to transform tiny harmless creatures into gigantic holy terrors. Probably the best of the 1950s phenomenon, this top-notch thriller witnesses giant ants set loose on a small town in the Southwest desert region of the United States. Two doctors from the Department of Agriculture are summoned to find the nest and destroy them...if they can.

Boy oh boy does this wee gem really take me back to the midnight horror and science fiction movies when I was courting in the early 70's, and why did all women cover their eyes when , even by todays
horrorfests, this was pretty tame stuff but enjoyable viewing all the same. 'THEM' , (1954)directed by Gordon Douglas with haunting music by Bronislau Kaper and starring the wonderful James Whitmore , James Arness , Edmund Gwenn ,Joan Weldon and a decent supporting cast is a landmark movie about giant radiation-mutated ants and boasts remarkable Academy Award nominated special effects. Pure Brilliant.
