Summary:
An outrageous comedy frenzy, featuring the films TOOTSIE, TO WONG FOO – THANKS FOR EVERYTHING JULIE NEWMAR and CONNIE AND CARLA.
TOOTSIE - When theatrical mastermind Michael Dorsey finds himself blacklisted by just about every producer in the acting business, he decides to thwart the entertainment industry by disguising himself as an older woman and auditioning for a daytime soap opera. Dorsey arrives for the audition in a dress and makeup and after giving an astonishing screen test, is hired on the spot by the show's executive. Dorsey is an overnight sensation with the show's fans and also finds a new romantic interest at work with his co-star, Julie. The only problem is that Julie thinks Dorsey is a woman and it's not long before she's trying to fix up Dorothy with her single father.
TO WONG FOO - THANKS FOR EVERYTHING JULIE NEWMAR - Three New York drag queens are on the way to Hollywood for a beauty pageant, when their car breaks down in a small Midwestern town, stranding the flamboyant trio for the weekend. Waiting for parts for their Cadillac convertible, the "ladies" show the locals that appearing different doesn't mean they don't have humanity in common.
CONNIE AND CARLA - Best friends since their school days, Connie and Carla are airport lounge singers with dreams of someday making it big on the cabaret circuit. Their break comes when they accidentally witness a mob murder, flee to L.A., and disguise themselves in drag. They dazzle the drag community with their singing talent and their suspiciously authentic feminine figures. Their struggle to keep their secret becomes a little tricky when Connie meets Jeff, the straight brother of one of her drag friends, and begins to fall in love. A complicated affair ensues with Jeff believing he is falling for a man in drag and Connie struggling to keep her true identity hidden in a series of wacky mix-ups and close calls.
