Summary: An epic which charts the story of the Jews who rose against the Nazis in 1943.

The Nazi invasion of Poland in the fall of 1939 sent hundreds of thousands of Polish Jews into a quarantined area which became known as the Warsaw Ghetto. The German troops were surprised to march into Warsaw to find such resistance by the proud Jewish population. This television miniseries dramatises the fighting spirit of the people who were proud to fight and willing to die for a desperate bid for freedom. Jon Avnet, director of RED CORNER, is perfectly suited to the material, and the ensemble cast--including Leelee Sobieski, Hank Azaria, David Schwimmer, Jon Voight, and Donald Sutherland--is superb.
