Will Hay, classic comedy movie star of the 1930s, stars in this eponymous jam-packed collection. Featuring nine fantastic films this box set showcases Hay's wonderful talents, particularly his iconic creation Dr. Twist the schoolteacher and a handful of other comic gems.
BOYS WILL BE BOYS features Will Hay's first outing for his schoolmaster character. WHERE THERE'S A WILL sees Hay playing a bored solicitor who gets caught up in robbery. In OH, MR PORTER! Hay is sent off, by his relatives, to a rural Ireland railway station to work, but gets up to mischief when there's so little to do. Hay's schoolteacher takes pupils to Paris where they foil a gang of crooks in GOOD MORNING, BOYS. Tramping through Africa, Hay attempts to impose his educational theories on the locals in OLD BONES OF THE RIVER. He finds himself all at sea when he wakes up as a stowaway on board ship in HEY! HEY! USA! Dr. Twist appears once again in CONVICT 99 where he gets mistaken for prison governor. Hay stars as a police sergeant this time in ASK A POLICEMAN, where he heads a force where no crime ever gets committed. So with their jobs on the line they decide to create work for themselves. This box set features the bonus film WINDBAG THE SAILOR which tells the tall tales of a braggard sea Captain, who's bluff is called when he's sent back to sea.
