Summary: A ghost hunter in the shape of a fourteen year old student fights the supernatural.
Yusuke is living out a typical teen existence. He goes to school. He has scrapes with a fellow student, Kuwabra, who he doesn't see eye to eye with. An act of bravery, however, brings Yusuke close to death. This sets off some encounters with unusual phenomena in these primary episodes of YU YU HAKUSHO. Yusuke's future ghost detective persona is explained in the elaborate set up laid out in these first four episodes.
