Summary: The provocative anime series YUGO THE NEGOTIATOR breaks new ground in the genre with a topical realism ripped straight from the headlines. In a world racked by terrorism and politically based kidnappings, an unusual operative named Yugo Beppu is hired by various foreign governments to utilize his quick logic, foreign language skills, and psychological manipulation techniques when all other forms of hostage negotiation have failed. Based upon a manga and rendered in a starkly realist style of animation, the first half of the anime series finds Yugo helping a young woman whose father is being held by a Pakistani rebel group bent on overthrowing the government (the second half launches an entirely new Russian storyline). This volume continues the first half with three more episodes.
